Kidney Hospital & Lifeline Medical Institutions, Jalandhar awarded QCI-D L Shah National Quality Award.

Kidney Hospital & Lifeline Medical Institutions, Jalandhar received the prestigious Quality Council of India’s D L Shah National Quality Award on 15th Apr 2014 at the 9th National Quality Conclave held at Hotel Meridian, New Delhi by the Quality Council of India. The award was presented to Dr. R. S. Chahal, Medical Director of the hospital by Mr. Madhav Lal, IAS, Secretary Ministry of Micro, Small & Medium Enterprises, Govt. of India. Also present on the dais during the award ceremony were eminent personalities like Mr. K. C. Mehra, Chairman Quality Council of India, Mr. Analjit Singh, Chairman & Founder MAX India Mr. Kasturirangan, Member Planning Commission and Mr. Arun Maira, Member Planning Commission.

The award was in recognition of the hospital’s innovative work in the field of Controlling and Prevention of hospital associated infection and to ensure Patient Safety & Healthcare Workers safety. Kidney Hospital & Lifeline Medical Institutions, Jalandhar is the first hospital in Punjab to be bestowed this award.

The QCI-DL Shah Quality Awards have been instituted with a view to promote awareness that performance improvement through quality initiatives is an important element for gaining a competitive edge. The Award recognizes successful projects (in the form of case studies) of an organization that have resulted in continuous improvement of products and/or services, better and effective operations as well as increased customers/stakeholders satisfaction. The awards are given for specific projects.

The Quality Council of India is an autonomous body, which falls in the purview of administration control of the Govt. of India. It was tasked to establish and operate the National Accreditation Structure for conformity of assessment bodies. It provides accreditation in various fields.
